According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar personally listened to the grievances of the attendees and took decisive action to ensure that their concerns were addressed promptly. Highlighting a proactive approach, Dr. Anwar instructed all supervisory officers to maintain close contact with their subordinates and expedite relief for any issues presented.
During the meeting, specific cases were addressed: Dr. Anwar directed the Additional IG Investigation Punjab to consider the reappointment of retired DSP Sajjad Hassan Mehdi as Inspector. He also responded to a request from Constable Imran Elahi’s wife, instructing Commandant Lahore Training College, Mahboob Aslam Lillah, to provide immediate relief.
Further demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of his force, IG Punjab intervened in several other personnel matters. This included forwarding the reappointment request of retired Inspector Legal from Sargodha, Umar Daraz, and acting on promotion requests from various ranks within the police force. Notable directives included promotions for a junior clerk from the Special Branch, an ASI from Sargodha, and a Sub-Inspector from Rahim Yar Khan.
