IIOJK Students Protest, Demand Justice for Rajouri Tragedy Victims

Aligarh: The Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) Students Association held a protest at Aligarh Muslim University, condemning the Indian government’s inadequate response to the tragedy in Budhal, Rajouri.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the tragedy in Budhal has claimed the lives of 17 individuals, including 14 children, over the past two months. Local residents attribute the deaths to severe water contamination caused by the Indian army.

Led by Zubair Reshi, spokesperson and media in-charge of the IIOJK Students Association, the protest saw significant participation from Kashmiri students, activists, and scholars. They stood united in their demand for justice. The march aimed to draw attention to the authorities’ apathy towards the suffering of the affected families.

Zubair Reshi stated that the puppet IIOJK administration had not taken responsibility for the Budhal tragedy. He condemned the lack of urgency and commitment to justice, emphasizing that the victims’ families continue to wait for relief and answers.

During the demonstration, Reshi submitted a memorandum to the AMU Proctor, addressed to the President of India. The memorandum called for immediate compensation for the victims’ families, a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident, and accountability for the administration’s failure to prevent such tragedies.
