IIOJK’s Status Sparks Diplomatic Clash Between India and Pakistan

Islamabad: Pakistan has firmly rejected recent statements by India’s Defense Minister and Army Chief, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory. The country maintains that the region’s final status must be determined in line with United Nations resolutions.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan refuted claims of Pakistani militants’ presence in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Khan reiterated Pakistan’s stance, emphasizing that the future of Jammu and Kashmir should reflect the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He also dismissed India’s assertions over Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The spokesperson highlighted that such provocative statements from India could not obscure the ongoing human rights violations in the region of IIOJK.

Khan noted the potential harm of these inflammatory remarks to regional peace and stability. He urged India to focus on internal issues rather than casting baseless accusations toward Pakistan. Additionally, he called upon India to recognize documented evidence concerning its involvement in terrorism and state-sponsored killings in other nations, rather than directing blame at Pakistan.
