India Bars Sikh Pilgrims From Attending Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s Martyrdom Anniversary In Pakistan

India: India has barred a group of Sikh pilgrims from visiting Pakistan to attend the annual martyrdom anniversary rituals of Guru Arjan Dev Ji.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Sikh pilgrims were scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Monday, but were denied permission by Indian authorities.

A spokesperson for the Evacuee Trust Property Board said that despite the pilgrims’ absence, Pakistan will observe a symbolic reception at the Wagah Border to uphold its tradition of religious respect and goodwill.

The Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee will be present at Wagah to symbolically receive the pilgrims.
