India: Congress Criticizes Modi Government Over Pakistan’s Role in US-Iran Peace Agreement

India: Congress has criticized the Modi government following Pakistan’s successful mediation in facilitating a peace agreement between the United States and Iran. This diplomatic achievement by Pakistan has been highlighted by the Indian opposition and media as a significant failure on the part of the Modi administration.

According to Radio Pakistan, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh pointed out that the designation of the peace agreement as the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding” signifies Pakistan’s increasing diplomatic influence. This development raises serious concerns about the foreign policy approach of the Modi-led central government.

Jairam Ramesh emphasized that the naming of the agreement underscores Pakistan’s enhanced position in regional and global affairs. He further noted that Pakistan’s deeper involvement in the geopolitical and security dynamics of West Asia has significant implications for India.

The Business Standard reported that the Modi government’s support for Israel’s actions in the region is negatively impacting India’s own interests. Additionally, Indian media have criticized Modi’s ongoing appeasement of former US President Donald Trump, describing it as embarrassing and counterproductive to national interests.

Experts have warned that India’s diplomatic, defense, and international trade sectors are facing continuous setbacks due to what they describe as the Modi government’s incompetence.
