India-Pakistan Tensions Escalate as DG ISPR Accuses India of Targeting Civilians

Islamabad: DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has accused India of targeting civilians and religious sites in Pakistan, while asserting that Pakistan’s military response is limited to Indian military posts responsible for these attacks.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chaudhry, speaking to TRT World News, stated that India has attacked mosques and places of worship based on an outdated narrative of alleged jihadi organizations operating in Pakistan. He dismissed Indian claims of downing Pakistani aircraft, capturing pilots, or Pakistan striking targets inside India, clarifying that Pakistan’s response has been limited to small arms fire directed at specific Indian military posts.

Chaudhry emphasized that in the current era, every military action leaves an electronic signature, and India’s inability to provide evidence of its claims indicates their lack of validity. He criticized Indian media for spreading what he termed as false and absurd narratives, asserting that Pakistan does not depend on Indian media for explanations, as any substantial action by Pakistan would be evident to the global community.

Addressing allegations linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack, Chaudhry noted that India’s tendency to exploit terrorist incidents for domestic political advantage must cease. He highlighted Pakistan’s offer for an independent investigation into the incident, which India declined.

Chaudhry concluded by stating that India cannot assume the roles of judge, jury, and prosecutor in bilateral matters, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach between the two nations.
