Indian Police Detain Juvenile in Doda Over Social Media Comments

Jammu: Indian police in Doda, a district in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, have detained a juvenile for sharing comments on social media.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Doda Police acted upon a complaint regarding ‘objectionable’ comments shared by the juvenile, whose identity has not been disclosed. This prompted law enforcement to initiate efforts to locate and apprehend the individual.

An official statement indicated that the police deployed teams to apprehend the juvenile. After extensive efforts, the authorities succeeded in detaining the minor. The juvenile was subsequently presented before the Principal Magistrate of the Juvenile Justice Board in Doda and has been placed in an Observatory Home in Jammu for a period of 15 days.
