Induction of HANGOR-Class Submarines to Boost Navy’s Capabilities: Naval Chief

Islamabad: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf has stated that the induction of eight HANGOR Class submarines will significantly enhance Pakistan Navy’s defence capabilities. In his message on the 54th HANGOR Day being observed today, he emphasized the importance of sub-surface warfare to the Navy’s strategic vision.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Naval Chief highlighted the ongoing submarine acquisition programme with China as a testament to the Navy’s commitment to strengthening its sub-surface warfare capabilities. He recalled the historical achievement of the PN submarine HANGOR, which, 54 years ago, sank INS KHUKRI and crippled INS KIRPAN, marking a significant milestone in naval history.
