Info Minister Urges PTI to Halt Religious Exploitation in Politics

Lahore: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to avoid exploiting religious sentiments for political gain. Addressing a news conference alongside religious scholars, he criticized PTI for turning to religion after failing to provide a legal justification in the 190 million pounds case.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister challenged PTI to clarify whether the 190 million pounds recovered by the UK’s National Crime Agency was handed over to Pakistan and questioned if the money was returned to the same individual from whom it was confiscated.

Regarding the Al-Qadir Trust case, Attaullah Tarar alleged that PTI presented the trust with a religious guise for personal benefit. He stressed that constructing religious institutions with misappropriated funds is unacceptable.

Religious scholars present at the event supported his statements, urging political leaders to refrain from using religion as a means to cover up corruption.
