Information Minister Reiterates All-Out Support to Journalists

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reiterated the government’s commitment to providing full support and protection to journalists in the fulfillment of their professional duties. He made this statement while speaking to a delegation comprising representatives from the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ), and the Parliamentary Reporters Association in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister expressed concern over an incident involving RIUJ President Tariq Virk, stating that resolving the matter is his personal responsibility. He assured the delegation that the dignity, freedom, and professional protection of journalists will be upheld at all levels.

Attaullah Tarar emphasized that the government regards independent media as a cornerstone of societal progress and remains steadfast in its defense. The meeting was also attended by Principal Information Officer Mubashir Hassan and other officials.
