Interior Minister directs Director General Immigration and Passports to further simplify procedure of renewal of passports

Islamabad, October 18, 2015 (PPI-OT): Spokesperson of the Interior Ministry has said that taking notice of media reports regarding difficulties faced by the public in renewal of their passports, the Interior Minister, Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, has directed DG Immigration and Passports to further simplify the procedure of renewal of passports. In the light of these instructions, the applicants would now be able to get their passports renewed from any office of the Passport, located in the country and abroad.

Earlier there was a condition that passports could only be renewed from the city/districts of the applicants as mentioned on their CNIC. The Spokesperson said that the guidance of media towards improving governmental procedures and redressal of public complaints is welcome and heartening. He said that the Interior Minister has directed DG Immigration and Passport to ensure full implementation of this new policy within a month.
