Interior Ministry Unveils Biometric B-Forms for Children Over Ten

ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has announced the launch of biometric B-forms for children over the age of ten, incorporating special security features. This initiative, led by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, aims to strengthen the security of children’s identity information and curb related crimes.

According to Radio Pakistan, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will now require fingerprints and photographs of children over ten years old as mandatory components of the B-form. These enhancements are expected to help prevent the theft and misuse of children’s identity information, addressing concerns over the issuance of fake identity cards, illegal passports, and human trafficking.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the importance of these measures in safeguarding children’s identities and preventing related crimes. The phased issuance of these biometric B-forms is set to commence on the 15th of this month, marking a significant step in the country’s efforts to enhance identity security for minors.
