International Civil Aviation Day Celebrated as PIA Resumes Flights to Europe

Lahore: The International Civil Aviation Day is being observed today, highlighting the significance of aviation in global connectivity and marking the 80th anniversary of the Convention on International Civil Aviation’s signing in Chicago. As part of the celebrations, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been granted permission to resume its flight operations to Europe, attributing this achievement to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s diplomatic efforts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chief Minister Nawaz emphasized the crucial role aviation plays in boosting the economy, tourism, and facilitating public interactions. She also reiterated the Punjab Government’s dedication to enhancing modern air travel facilities and disclosed that there is an ongoing proposal to establish Punjab’s own airline.
