Int’l Day for Disarmament & Non-Proliferation Awareness Being Observed Today

Islamabad: International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness is being observed today. The Day focuses on rebalancing global security priorities by investing in the “architecture of peace” rather than the “tools of war”.

According to Radio Pakistan, the observance of this day aims to highlight the importance of reducing reliance on armaments and promoting peaceful means of resolving conflicts. By encouraging nations to shift their focus from military expenditure to initiatives that foster peace and stability, the day seeks to create a safer global environment. Advocates of disarmament and non-proliferation argue that such a shift not only reduces the risk of armed conflict but also allows for better allocation of resources towards development and humanitarian efforts.
