Int’l Day of Play Highlights Importance of Play in Child Development

Lahore: The International Day of Play is being observed today with the theme “Choose Play – Every Day.” This day is dedicated to highlighting the importance of play in the lives of individuals, especially children, as a medium to help them reach their full potential.

According to Radio Pakistan, the observance of this day marks a significant milestone in efforts to preserve, promote, and prioritize play. The initiative aims to ensure that all individuals, particularly children, can benefit from the rewards of play and thrive in various aspects of life.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in her message on this occasion, emphasized the crucial role of play in a child’s life. She noted that a joyful, playful child symbolizes a thriving society. Furthermore, she highlighted that play is not merely a form of entertainment for children but a fundamental component that contributes to their mental, emotional, and creative development.
