Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, has announced that the 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) Conference will be held during the holy month of Rabi-ul-Awwal in a dignified and befitting manner. Chairing a meeting convened to assess preparations for the landmark event in Islamabad today, the minister emphasized the event’s critical role in educating the youth about Islamic teachings and the noble life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
According to Radio Pakistan, Sardar Yousaf noted that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has designated the current Hijri year as the 1500th year of the Blessed Birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to be commemorated under the title “Nabi ur-Rahmah”. In line with this declaration, the Ministry has launched a countrywide initiative to organize Seerat and Naat gatherings under the theme “Ashra Rahmat-lil-Alameen”, at both provincial and private levels.
This year’s conference theme will focus on “State Responsibilities in Educating and Training for the Positive Use of Social Media-In Light of the Teaching of the Holy Prophet”. During the event, authors of outstanding papers and writers of books on Seerat and Naat will be honored with special awards.
