IOK authorities condemned for creating fearful atmosphere

Srinagar, June 29, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have expressed serious concern over horrific and fearful atmosphere created by the Indian forces’ personnel through frequent night raids on the residences of pro-freedom leaders and activists.

The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar condemning nocturnal raids and arrest of innocent youth strongly criticized the occupation authorities for using muscular tactics against the innocent people of the occupied territory.

The APHC denounced the harassment of Hurriyat leaders, Abdul Ahad Waza and Master Ali Muhammad by the Indian police and troops in Bandipora. It condemned the arrest of Abdul Hameed Parrey, Khursheed Ahmed Hajjam, Nisar Ahmed Rather, Gul Hassan Shah, Muhammad Muzaffar Lone and Shakeel Ahmed Sofi by the Indian police in Bandipora and Baramulla areas.

The statement denounced the spurt in the arrest spree in occupied Kashmir and said that such repressive measures could not intimidate the Kashmiris into submission. It said that despite Indian state terrorism, the Kashmiri people would take their freedom movement to its logical conclusion at all costs.

The APHC while referring to the recent report of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights about human rights violations by the Indian troops in occupied Kashmir said that the report should serve as an eye-opener for the Indian authorities. It urged New Delhi to read the writing on the wall, shun intransigence on the Kashmir dispute and give the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat forum in its statement while denouncing the nocturnal raids in various parts of the occupied territory including Hajin, Bandipora and Pulwama said that under the garb of search operations, people of all ages were subjected to the worst form of harassment and torture while properties worth lacs were vandalized by the Indian forces. He said that the occupation authorities had made it a regular affair to harass and instill fear among the people and it seemed that harassing and warning people with dire consequences had become a policy of the authorities in the territory.
