Iqbal Day Ceremony to be held at Aiwan-e-Sadr

Islamabad, November 08, 2015 (PPI-OT):President of Pakistan Mr. Mamnoon Hussain will preside over a ceremony to mark the Iqbal Day at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday. The Iqbal Day celebration will be attended by the Government dignitaries, foreign diplomats, academics, scholars of Iqbaliaat, students and people from other walks of life. Mr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC will also be present.

During the ceremony, being hosted in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission, the scholars will shed light on the vision of Allama Muhammad Iqbal which was a cornerstone of the Pakistan Movement, and how he gave the Muslims of Sub-Continent a roadmap for creation and development of a democratic welfare state.

On the occasion, selected verses from Kalam e Iqbal will also be presented. The 138th birth anniversary of poet-philosopher will be celebrated in other cities and towns as well, with national fervour and enthusiasm. Cultural, educational and literary organisations have chalked out different programmes to mark the day in a befitting manner and pay homage to the great poet.
