Iran, US Genuinely Committed to Middle East Peace: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that both Iran and the United States are sincere in their efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East. He made these remarks during an informal interaction with journalists in Brgenstock, Switzerland, on the sidelines of US-Iran technical-level talks.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the dignified approach of the Iranian leadership in handling the crisis and their genuine intent to foster peace. He expressed confidence in the sincerity of Iran’s efforts toward resolving regional tensions.

Discussing the role of the United States, Shehbaz Sharif noted his belief in President Donald Trump’s commitment to peace. He cited Trump’s effective intervention during the India-Pakistan conflict last year, which played a crucial role in preventing further escalation and saving lives.

When asked about US Vice President JD Vance’s positive remarks about Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif described the renewed friendship between Pakistan and the United States as very encouraging. He emphasized that this development could lead to enhanced coordination and cooperation between the two nations.

The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to President Trump for his support in promoting economic cooperation and combating terrorism, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in these areas.
