Islamabad: A meeting of the Committee to Review Sugar Availability and Price was held in Islamabad today with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair. The Deputy Prime Minister reviewed the progress on the disposal of imported sugar, sugar production for 2025-26, and current prices.
According to Radio Pakistan, the committee noted with satisfaction the downward trend in sugar prices at both the ex-mill and retail stages. Ishaq Dar directed the concerned Provincial Departments to ensure that the farmers receive a fair price for sugarcane and in a timely manner.
