Islamabad Enhances Focus on Chinese Investments in Key Infrastructure Projects

Islamabad: In a pivotal meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Chinese Investment Projects (CCoCIP), chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, the Pakistani government underscored its commitment to expediting several major projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to Press Information Department, the agenda focused on enhancing the provision of utilities to the Rashakai Special Economic Zone and developing policies for the Gwadar Free Zone to improve transit trade with Afghanistan and Central Asian countries. Minister Iqbal emphasized treating investors as customers and directed ministries to develop actionable plans to address unresolved issues, highlighting the need for swift decision-making to prevent investment delays.
