Islamabad Police Arrest 13 in Anti-Crime Sweep, Seize Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad: In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, Islamabad Police have arrested 13 individuals linked to various offenses, including drug peddling, mobile phone theft, and illegal weapon possession. The operation led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of drugs and several weapons.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, coordinated efforts by the police teams from the Secretariat, Golra, and Khanna stations resulted in the arrest of six individuals directly involved in the mentioned crimes. Authorities recovered 1,790 grams of heroin, 92 grams of ice (crystal meth), stolen mobile phones, and two pistols with ammunition. Additionally, police apprehended seven absconders from different city areas over the past 24 hours, enhancing the ongoing efforts to maintain law and order.

DIG Islamabad emphasized the commitment of the police force to safeguarding the citizens’ lives, property, and dignity, stating that maintaining peace and preventing crime remains a top priority. The police also encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pukar-15,” the “ICT-15” app, or directly to the nearest police station, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in achieving a crime-free environment.
