Islamabad Police Arrest 16, Seize Drugs and Weapons in Citywide Crackdown

Islamabad: In a coordinated operation spanning multiple police stations, Islamabad Police have arrested 16 individuals for various crimes, including drug peddling and possession of illegal weapons. The citywide crackdown resulted in the seizure of narcotics and several firearms with ammunition.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrest and recovery operations were conducted by teams from the Islamabad Police Secretariat, Noon, Khanna, Shahzad Town, Sumbal, Sangjani, Sabzi Mandi, and Humak police stations. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to combat drug-related offenses and illegal weapon possession in the federal capital.

The police reported the recovery of 160 grams of heroin, 110 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, 1,225 grams of hashish, and four pistols with ammunition. Additionally, nine absconders were captured over the last 24 hours, further highlighting the intensity of the ongoing law enforcement campaign.

Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Inspector General of Police for Islamabad, reiterated the force’s commitment to safeguarding the lives, property, and dignity of all residents. He emphasized the continuous effort to maintain peace and order in Islamabad, declaring that disruptive elements would not be tolerated within the city limits.

The police also encourage citizens to actively participate in maintaining security by reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station, utilizing the emergency helpline “Pukar-15,” or through the “ICT-15” mobile application. Such community cooperation is deemed essential for achieving a crime-free environment.
