ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 18 individuals involved in various criminal activities, including drug trafficking and possession of illegal firearms, authorities announced. Law enforcement teams recovered narcotics and weapons with ammunition from the suspects, reflecting the ongoing efforts to combat crime within the federal capital.
According to Pakistan Polio Eradication Programme, the apprehensions were carried out by police teams from Sumbal, Shams Colony, Khanna, Bani Gala, Margalla, and Ramna. The arrested individuals include Sadiq Ali, Nawaz, Sheraz, Irfan Shah, Irfan Ullah, Mansoor Shah, Afaq, Khawar, Sajid, Mati Ullah, and Hasan Hussain. The operation resulted in the seizure of 1800 grams of heroin, two 30 bore pistols, a 223 bore rifle with ammunition, and two iron punches.
Additionally, seven absconders were apprehended from different parts of the city. Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Muhammad Arsalan Shah Zaib highlighted the commitment of the Islamabad Police to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, stating that maintaining peace remains a top priority. He urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pukar-15” to foster a collaborative effort in eradicating crime.
