New Delhi: Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, the head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, has issued a strong condemnation against the claims made by extremist Hindu groups regarding the establishment of a temple at the shrine of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri. He called for an immediate cessation of provocations targeting mosques nationwide.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Maulana Madani described the claim as an assault on India’s identity and criticized the perceived support from the Modi-led BJP government for such extremist actions, which he claims are fostering an environment of anarchy and hatred. He labeled the demand to construct a temple at the revered Ajmer Sharif shrine as nonsensical and worthy of condemnation.
Maulana Madani urged the judiciary to swiftly dismiss these claims, noting that Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti has long been a symbol of peace and a significant part of India’s cultural heritage. He called on both central and state governments to retract any backing for these extremist elements, cautioning that history would judge them harshly for their stance.
Additionally, Maulana Madani criticized the ongoing campaign, allegedly supported by RSS-backed Hindu extremists, against the Jamia Masjid in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. He characterized these efforts as an assault on the Muslim community and pressed for immediate intervention from authorities to halt such actions.
