JKPL condemns arrest of party chairman

Srinagar, May 18, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has strongly condemned the arrest of its Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, by Indian police in Islamabad town. A JKPL spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the police arrested Mukhtar Ahmad Waza from his residence and lodged him in Sherbagh police station in Islamabad town. He said Mukhtar Waza is suffering from various ailments and the detention would further deteriorate his condition.

He also paid rich tributes to the youth martyrs by Indian troops in Pulwama, Shopian and other areas in the holy month of Ramadan during cordon and search operations. He said the people of Kashmir are peacefully demanding their birth right to self-determination but India is using military might against them to suppress their ongoing freedom movement. He urged the international community to take cognizance of the worst situation of occupied Kashmir and India’s rigid policy on the Kashmir dispute.
