Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry to participate in Pakistan-United Kingdom Business Festival in Manchester

Karachi, August 12, 2014 (PPI-OT): Senior Vice President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Muffasar Atta Malik, Vice President KCCI, Muhammad Idrees, Chairman of Fairs, Exhibitions and Trade Delegations Sub-Committee, Naveed Farooki have left for United Kingdom to attend Pakistan-UK Business Festival being organized in Manchester, UK from August 14th to 17th, 2014.

According to a statement issued, Muffasar Atta Malik is leading the visit to Pakistan-UK Business Festival which is jointly being organized by Economic and Trade Division UK North, High Commission of Pakistan and Karachi Chamber. More than 20 businessmen and Industrialists of Karachi are participating in this exhibition.

Commenting on this important visit, President KCCI, Abdullah Zaki said, “This exhibition, besides giving us an opportunity to promote various Pakistani products and services, has also given us a perfect chance to highlight Pakistan’s soft image and its culture. KCCI’s participation in this important event is likely to improve interaction amongst business communities of the two countries, besides enhancing the existing trade volume.

Abdullah Zaki, while appreciating the constant support being extended by UK to Pakistan, said that it has helped in paving way for raising trade volume between the two countries.

He noted that bilateral trade linkages between Pakistan and United Kingdom are deep rooted and have provided space to both of the countries to collaborate in different sectors of the economy. However, Abdullah Zaki stressed the need to share and develop common knowledge base, encourage exchange of trade and business related information and act lively to facilitate B2B linkages.

“By exploring competitive and comparative advantages, the two countries can certainly increase trade and pave way for new and better businesses”, he added.

Prior to his departure for UK, Senior Vice President KCCI, Muffasar A. Malik said that KCCI’s participation Pakistan-UK Business Festival would certainly help in effectively promoting Pakistani products and services in UK, besides provide a perfect platform for exchanging views on matters related to Pak-UK bilateral trade and investment.

He informed that Pakistani businessmen and industrialists will be displaying numerous products including textile Made-ups, home textile, furniture, sports goods, garments, footwear, surgical goods, leather goods, food stuff, woven fabrics, jewellery and handicrafts etc. at Pakistan-UK Business Festival.

Muffasar Malik was fairly optimistic that KCCI’s participation in this exhibition in UK will certainly bring business communities of the two countries closer than before. He also emphasized the need to enhance the existing trade volume between both countries as the present level of trade volume was not depicting the true trade potential between the two countries.
