Karachi Mayor Discusses Infrastructure and Employee Welfare with MQM Delegation

Karachi, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab met with a delegation from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to discuss a range of issues from upgrading fire brigade services to the development of major expressways aimed at improving traffic management in the city. The meeting focused on enhancing civic facilities and addressing the concerns of municipal employees and retired officers.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab outlined plans to keep the Fire Brigade Department under the jurisdiction of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and integrate services with Rescue 1122 to improve emergency response capabilities.

He emphasized the commitment to merit-based promotions and addressed the issue of dues for retired officers, promising that these matters would be prioritized. The discussion also touched on significant infrastructure projects, including the completion of the Malir Expressway and efforts to alleviate traffic through the use of the Lyari Expressway for heavy traffic.
