Karachi Metropolitan Corporation to allocate Sports Complex solely for Sports Activities

Karachi, January 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that KMC Sports Complex situated at Kashmir Road was being allocated solely for sports activities and Marriage Lawns situated here would be closed and construction of International standard Football Stadium, Bowling alley, and Shooting Ball Stadium would start next month whereas current Tennis Court would also be built on modern lines to promote sports activities and gain international standard players who could bright the name of our nation and country.

He said this while addressing a closing ceremony of All Pakistan I.U Khan Memorial Shooting Ball Championship. Administrator Karachi said that sports and recreation activities were splendid a means to reduce depression in current situation and if sports grounds were packed with people, the hospitals would be empty therefore sports activities were very important and along with other sectors of life we should pay attention to education and sports as much as possible.

Earlier final of Championship between Defense Champion Agricultural Development Bank and Punjab Police teams was played in which Development Bank after exciting competition won the I.U Khan Memorial Shooting Ball Championship. Earlier Agricultural Development Bank defeated Al-Farid Club Sahiwal by 2-0 score whereas Punjab Police defeated Sarwari Club Hyderabad by 2-0 and qualified for final match. 24 teams from above 15 cities participated in the championship held in memory of I.U Khan in which Hyderabad, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Islamabad and other cities included whereas Pakistan Shooting Ball Association provided technical support.

On this occasion the president of Pakistan Shooting Ball Association Ramzan Chanai, Sr. Director Sports, Culture and Recreation Muhammad Rehan Khan, Director Culture Khursheed Shah and players associated with various sports were present. Administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed on this occasion presented trophies to final winner and captains of runner up teams, 30 thousand cheque to winner and 20 thousand cheque to runner up whereas Lifetime Achievement Award was also given to Ex-National Player of Shooting Ball Falak Sher.
