Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s anti encroachment operation in West Wharf and Dockyard

Karachi, May 12, 2014 (PPI-OT): The special anti encroachments team of KMC carried out major operation against the encroachments established at the roads and pavements of West Wharf and Dockyard in district South in which hundreds of push carts, patharas and other things were seized and the area was cleared for vehicular traffic and pedestrians.

The anti encroachments squad though faced some resistance but the police controlled the situation. According to details following the directive of Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui anti encroachments staff of KMC took action in the West Wharf and Dockyard area of district South under the supervision of Director Anti Encroachments Mazhar Khan and removed all illegal roadside hotels, patharas, push carts, cabins and sugar cane juice machines.

The director of anti encroachments in district South and assistant commissioner of the area along with the KPT staff and police coordinated in this operation. The people of the area expressed pleasure on the removal of encroachments from roads and pavements which created trouble for them specially the children and women suffered most due to this situation in their area.

Director anti encroachments KMC Mazhar Khan said the ongoing operation against all kinds of encroachments was continuing in all areas of the city without any discrimination and it was aimed at restoration of beauty of the city and save the citizens from difficulties due to encroachments on roads and pavements. He said the current campaign was going on successfully and the citizens have also supported this action against encroachments.
