Karachi: Rizwan Abdul Sami, Chairman of the Town Municipal Corporation Jinnah, voiced strong objections against the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) intervention in the ongoing Jamaluddin Afghani Road renovation. The chairman underscored that the road, part of a broader development initiative under the Safe City Project, legally falls within the jurisdiction of TMC Jinnah, contrary to KMC’s claims.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the dispute centers on the rightful administration of the road’s renovation, which includes major upgrades like undergrounding cables. The project, aimed at fostering development within Jinnah Town, has faced interruptions due to KMC’s actions, allegedly influenced by the People’s Party. This interference, Sami argued, not only stalls progress but also contradicts previously agreed upon terms between PTAPA and TMC Jinnah, as outlined in their Memorandum of Understanding.
