Kashmir settlement vital to regional prosperity: Prof Butt

Srinagar, January 17, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior All Parties Hurriyet Conference leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt has said that settlement of the Kashmir dispute is imperative for a secured economic and political future of entire South and Central Asia.

Professor Abdul Ghani Butt addressing a function, held in connection with the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in Srinagar, said that the time was ripe to resolve the dispute for the prosperity of the people of South Asia and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Professor Butt said that Kashmir was a political dispute, which could be resolved politically through dialogue. He maintained that the people of Jammu and Kashmir were masters of their own destiny and stressed their participation in the Pak-India dialogue process on Kashmir.

The function was organized by Anjuman Shari Shian and was chaired by senior APHC leader, Syed Agha Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi.

The conference was also addressed by senior APHC leader, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Maulvi Aashiq Hussian, Dr Yousuf-ul-Umar and others.
