Kashmir Supreme League to Promote Sports and Advocate for Kashmir Cause

Islamabad: The newly launched Kashmir Supreme League (KSL) is set to not only foster sports development but also champion the Kashmir cause on a global scale. The initiative aims to spotlight the region’s talent and political aspirations concurrently.

According to Kashmir Media Service, at the inaugural event of the KSL, Rana Sanaullah emphasized the abundance of untapped talent in Pakistan and the necessity of showcasing it to the world. He commended the KSL management’s enthusiasm and assured government support for the league’s endeavors. Sanaullah further highlighted that the league is deeply connected to Kashmir and its broader socio-political context, aiming to use the platform to promote sports while also bringing international attention to the Kashmir issue.

Meanwhile, Advocate Parvez Ahmad, General Secretary of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, speaking at the same event, depicted the deep-seated affinity Kashmiri people hold for Pakistan. He recounted how Kashmiris have historically celebrated Pakistan’s cricket victories with fervor, often facing severe repercussions from Indian authorities. He also noted the ongoing detention of Kashmiri youths under stringent laws for celebrating Pakistani sports triumphs.

Advocate Ahmad reaffirmed the sentiment among Kashmiris of their deep bond with Pakistan, expressing hope that Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiri cause without wavering.
