Kashmir Voters Reject BJP in Recent Elections, Local Politicians Claim

Srinagar: In the recent assembly elections, voters in Kashmir have clearly rejected the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) politics the chief of the Congress IIOJK chapter and former Lok Sabha member.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Karra, who secured the Central Shalteng Constituency seat with 14,395 votes, stated in a media interview in Srinagar that the electorate is well-aware of the BJP’s actions over the past five years and voted in opposition to their policies.

Adding to this sentiment, senior CPI-M leader M Y Tarigami remarked that the results serve as a clear rebuke of the Modi government and its approach. Tarigami highlighted the challenges posed by the bureaucratic and Lieutenant Governor governance model in IIOJK since 2018, which he believes has exacerbated difficulties for the local population.
