KCCI and DIG West Collaborate for Enhanced Security in Karachi

Karachi: In a strategic initiative to address the persistent security concerns in Karachi, a significant meeting took place between Irfan Baloch, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) West and Central, and Hafeez Aziz, Chief PCLC of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI). The discussion aimed at strengthening the coordination between law enforcement agencies and the city’s business community, underscoring a joint commitment to fostering a safer environment for both residents and entrepreneurs.

DIG Irfan Baloch assured the KCCI representatives of the police department’s steadfast support in preserving peace and stability throughout Karachi. He highlighted the essential role of law enforcement in protecting the city’s inhabitants and maintaining a secure atmosphere for business operations. “The safety of Karachi’s citizens and business community is our top priority. We remain committed to proactive measures to ensure the city remains a hub of economic activity,” he stated.

Hafeez Aziz, representing Karachi’s business leaders, voiced concerns about recent incidents disrupting commercial activities. He emphasized the urgent need for more effective security strategies and urged closer collaboration between police and the business sector to address security gaps, particularly in commercial hubs and industrial zones. Aziz noted that a secure business environment is vital not only for Karachi’s economic growth but also for the well-being of its residents.

In a move to deepen collaboration, DIG Irfan Baloch announced plans to visit the KCCI soon. This visit aims to facilitate further dialogue and a better understanding of the challenges faced by the business community. “By fostering a closer partnership with the KCCI, we can ensure that both law enforcement and businesses align in our shared goal of a safer and more prosperous Karachi,” Baloch mentioned, emphasizing the commitment to enhanced communication and cooperation.

The meeting concluded positively, with both parties reaffirming their shared vision of a thriving, secure Karachi. They pledged to work together, pooling resources and expertise to overcome security hurdles and enhance Karachi’s appeal as a destination for local and international business investment.

As Karachi continues to strengthen its position as Pakistan’s economic powerhouse, collaboration between law enforcement and the business community remains crucial. The city’s safety and security are integral not only to the well-being of its residents but also to the long-term sustainability of its economy.
