Khwarij Attack on Bannu District Check Post Thwarted, Resulting in Casualties

Bannu: A coordinated attack by the Khwarij on a Joint Check Post in the MaliKhel area of Bannu District was repelled by security forces, resulting in the deaths of six attackers. The incident occurred on November 19, 2024, as the militant group attempted to breach the post.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the attackers were forced to detonate an explosive-laden vehicle against the perimeter wall of the post after failing to penetrate the defenses. The explosion led to the collapse of a section of the wall and damage to nearby infrastructure, causing the deaths of twelve personnel, including ten soldiers of the security forces and two from the Frontier Constabulary.

In response to the attack, a sanitization operation is underway in the area to apprehend those responsible. The security forces and law enforcement agencies in Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to combating terrorism, stating that such sacrifices reinforce their determination to eradicate the threat.
