Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy Inaugurates Pre-Service Training for Civil Judges

Peshawar: The 6th Pre-Service Training (PST) for newly recruited Civil Judges-cum-Judicial Magistrates/Illaqa Qazis commenced today at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy. The training program was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by notable judicial figures including Mr. Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court.

According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy – Peshawar, the event was marked by the presence of Mr. Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, who serves as the Chairman of the Board of Governors at the Academy, and was the chief guest at the ceremony. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Justice Ijaz Anwar, the Senior Puisne Judge and Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors, and Barrister Ikhtiar Khan, the Registrar of the Peshawar High Court.

The ceremony featured speeches from various leaders at the Academy. Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, the Director General of the Academy, welcomed the trainees and provided an overview of the training program. Mr. Zia ur Rehman, the Dean Faculty, detailed the course contents to the participants, emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the training designed to prepare them for their roles in the judiciary.

Mr. Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim congratulated the new recruits on their selection and highlighted the importance of their role as guardians of justice. He stressed the values of fairness, equality, compassion, impartiality, respect, and integrity that are essential for judicial officers.

The opening ceremony concluded with the commencement of formal academic sessions that are part of the training schedule running from September 18 to October 22, 2024.
