Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ministers Inspect Educational Facilities in Swabi, Push for Improvements

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ministers for Higher Education, Meena Khan Afridi, and Irrigation, Aqibullah Khan, visited several universities and colleges in the Swabi district to evaluate their infrastructure and operational challenges. The ministers expressed particular concern over delays in the construction of hostels at the University of Swabi, with Afridi ordering the completion of these facilities by December and threatening to blacklist the contractor if deadlines are not met.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during the visit, the ministers received briefings on various issues facing the institutions, including financial conditions and potential savings from transitioning to solar power. Afridi stressed the importance of diversifying revenue streams beyond student fees and urged faculty to focus on quality education and research. The visit also highlighted staff shortages and facility deficits at the Government Girls College of Management Sciences, Kotha Swabi, with promises to address these issues before the new academic year begins.
