KP Govt to Launch Operation Against Riverbed Encroachments

Khyber pakhtunkhwa: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has announced the commencement of an operation targeting all encroachments in riverbeds starting Sunday. This initiative was disclosed by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, during his visit to flood-affected areas in Swat on Saturday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the government is taking decisive steps to address the issue of encroachments that have been affecting the riverbeds. In addition to the operation, a ban has been imposed on all types of mining activities in these areas, aiming to mitigate further environmental and structural damage. The decision reflects the government’s commitment to preserving natural waterways and preventing future flood-related incidents.
