KWSSIP and NRSP Mark International Women’s Day in Soba Nagar

Karachi: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP), in collaboration with the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP), celebrated International Women’s Day in Soba Nagar, District Central, Karachi. The event highlighted the crucial role of women in community-led development, particularly in addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) challenges through social mobilization.

According to Radio Pakistan, Soba Nagar is one of the Katchi Abadis where KWSSIP is working on water supply and sewerage rehabilitation, with NRSP supporting sustainable community mobilization. The celebration brought together women from WASH committees and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) who have been actively engaged in improving living conditions in their neighborhood.

A highlight of the celebration was the cake-cutting ceremony, which took place amid enthusiastic applause and cheers from the participants.
