Lahore: The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) has announced that preparations are well underway for the 41st International Handmade Carpet Exhibition, scheduled to take place from October 7 to 9, 2025, in Lahore. The event aims to draw international buyers, with the PCMEA emphasizing its commitment to ensuring the exhibition’s success.
PCMEA Chairman Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Vice Chairman Riaz Ahmed disclosed that the Association is working diligently to facilitate foreign buyers’ attendance. They are awaiting financial support from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to offer hospitality packages, which will include accommodation and essential services.
A preparatory review meeting was held at the Association’s office to evaluate ongoing coordination efforts with TDAP and engagement strategies with international buyers. The meeting was attended by prominent industry figures, including Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik and Chairperson of the Carpet Training Institute, Ijaz-ur-Rehman.
The session also addressed recent challenges due to severe rains and flooding, with attendees expressing condolences for the resulting losses across the country.
Chairman Atiq-ur-Rehman and Vice Chairman Riaz Ahmed expressed optimism about the exhibition’s potential to rejuvenate Pakistan’s handmade carpet industry. They highlighted the importance of international buyer participation in generating foreign exchange for the country.
The Association plans to host a special dinner at the Governor House in Lahore to honor international buyers and PCMEA members. The opening and closing ceremonies of the exhibition are also under discussion.
The PCMEA leadership remains in close consultation with TDAP to streamline the event’s execution, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.
