Landslides and Rainfall Cause Damage in Malakand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Malakand: Heavy rainfall and resulting landslides on September 14, 2024, have led to significant damage in several areas of Malakand District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, impacting homes and livestock. The incidents underscore the ongoing challenges faced by the region during severe weather conditions.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority, the damage includes the destruction of residential structures and the death of livestock. Specific incidents reported include damage to the home of Zeeshan Khan in Khatkay Kaley Kopper, where one room was destroyed. Additionally, Akhtar Muneer from Sakhakot Tehsil Dargai lost a cow, and Fazal Rahman’s property in Galow Shah Sakhakot suffered the collapse of two rooms.

The PDMA is coordinating response efforts to assess and address the needs of those affected by the landslides and heavy rains.
