Lahore: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has commended the swift response of Pakistan’s Armed Forces to acts of terrorism allegedly sponsored by India, as well as the targeting of terrorist hideouts across the border in Afghanistan. LCCI officials highlighted the precision and restraint exercised by the military during these operations, noting that no civilian casualties occurred.
LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol, Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, and Vice President Khurram Lodhi emphasized the importance of these military actions in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty. They expressed concerns over Afghanistan’s attitude, accusing the Afghan regime of facilitating violence and instability in the region despite Pakistan’s long-standing support for Afghan refugees.
The officials reminded the international community of Pakistan’s generosity in hosting over four million Afghan refugees since the Soviet invasion. They criticized Afghanistan for allegedly harboring militants and fostering terrorism aimed at destabilizing Pakistan, describing such actions as a betrayal of brotherhood.
The LCCI leadership praised the Armed Forces for their decisive actions against terrorist hideouts, asserting that Pakistan will not tolerate any threats to its sovereignty. They reiterated that the business community supports the military’s efforts to ensure national security.
They warned that Pakistan’s patience should not be mistaken for weakness and stressed that the nation is prepared to respond to threats with full force. The LCCI acknowledged the impact of terrorism on Pakistan’s economy but assured that the business community remains resilient and stands united with the Armed Forces.
The LCCI urged the international community, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to hold Afghanistan accountable for promoting terrorism. They highlighted Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and called for global recognition of its efforts for regional stability.
The LCCI statement concluded with a call for unity, emphasizing that all Pakistanis stand with the Armed Forces in defending the nation. The business community, along with other societal segments, remains committed to supporting the military in protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty.
