Lightning Strike in Chhattisgarh Kills Eight, Including Six Students

New Delhi: A tragic lightning strike in Rajnand village, Chhattisgarh, resulted in the deaths of eight individuals, six of whom were students from Morhipur High School. The incident occurred as the students were returning home after their examinations.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the students, enrolled in the 11th and 12th grades, were on their way to their respective villages of Jura Terai and Mangata when they encountered a sudden rainstorm accompanied by severe thunder. Seeking shelter, they, along with two local villagers, took refuge in a nearby dirt house located along the roadside. Tragically, a lightning strike hit the shelter, killing all eight individuals instantaneously.

In addition to the fatalities, the lightning strike severely injured a young man who has since been transported to a hospital. Reports indicate that his condition remains critical.
