Linde Pakistan Limited appoints new Chief Executive

Karachi, August 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Board of Directors of Linde Pakistan Limited (formerly known as BOC Pakistan Limited), a member of The Linde Group, today announced that Muhammad Ashraf Bawany has been appointed as Chief Executive and Managing Director of the company with effect from 2 August 2013, succeeding Yousuf Husain Mirza who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Mr Bawany is currently the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, and has worked in the company for nearly 28 years, holding various leadership roles.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Linde Pakistan, Mr Munnawar Hamid, said, “The Board is pleased to appoint Muhammad Ashraf Bawany as Chief Executive of the company, given his extensive experience and strong track record built over his long and successful career. We are confident that Ashraf will be able to further advance Linde Pakistan along its profitable growth path.”

Mr Bawany said, “I am honoured to be appointed as Chief Executive, and am excited about the many opportunities and prospects to grow our business across the country. I look forward to leading and working with the Linde Pakistan team to continue delivering innovative and high-quality solutions to our customers safely and sustainably.”

Linde Pakistan is the country’s leading industrial gases player, with the most comprehensive gases product portfolio and turnkey services. Its facilities include air separation plants in Lahore, Port Qasim and Taxila, as well as carbon dioxide plants at Port Qasim and Multan. Last year, the company brought on stream a new air separation plant in Lahore at an investment cost of about Rs 2 billion. This facility, which is capable of producing 150 tons per day (tpd) of gases products, is the largest merchant air separation plant in the country.
