Lines Area Parking Plaza made operational by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation

Karachi, July 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi has said that Lines Area Parking Plaza along with its complete capacity has been made operational. Arrangements for saving record of vehicles number plates and driver picture have been made in parking plaza whereas backup of this database could also be prepared on requirements.

He said this while addressing a meeting held on making Lines Area Parking Plaza operational. On this occasion Sr. Director Transport and Communication Muhammad Athar and other officers were present.

On this occasion it was informed in a briefing that Transport and Communication Department has finalized all necessary measures for making Lines Area Parking Plaza operational from today (Friday). More than 60 CCTV cameras have been installed for security arrangements in Parking Plaza through which complete monitoring of inside and outside parts from central control room will be done whereas ticket booth has been set up on the route where every vehicle along with driver picture and identification of number plat will be examined and physically checked.

The staff from Charged Parking Department KMC has also been deployed for arrangements of parking plaza. It was also informed that despite of all these measures police support will also be necessary for implementation of rules so that illegal parking could be controlled and encroachments be removed on adjacent roads in this connection Traffic Police and Karachi Cantonment Board have been directed for elimination of illegal parking and encroachments specially on Mansfield Street, Preedy Street, intersections and adjoining area.

KMC Administrator while addressing said that Lines Area Parking Plaza will be made suitable and safe for parking of vehicles in Saddar area so that wrong parking could be controlled and traffic flow on roads could maintain for which a comprehensive traffic management plan was being implemented in Saddar area under which all necessary measures along with changing of routes and designs of important intersections were being taken.
