Makkah Joint Defence Agreement to Promote Regional Peace: Erdogan

Islamabad: In a post on X today, Erdogan announced that the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement will contribute to developing joint projects in the defence industry and combating terrorism. He emphasized that the agreement reaffirms the right of defence as outlined in Article 51 of the UN Charter and is designed to promote peace, prosperity, and stability in the region without targeting any specific country. The agreement is open to participation from all brotherly countries sharing these goals.

According to Radio Pakistan, Erdogan highlighted that Trkiye will continue its commitment to resolving conflicts and crises through dialogue and diplomacy, in line with its vision of regional ownership. This approach is rooted in a principled stance that respects international law.
