Maritime Minister Emphasizes Crucial Role of Oil Spill Drills

Karachi: Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has emphasized the crucial role of oil spill drills in ensuring effective preparedness to safeguard marine life. He made these remarks while witnessing Oil Spill Response Exercises in Karachi Port on Tuesday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted the importance of such exercises in enabling response teams to practice containment, cleanup, and mitigation strategies. Later, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry inaugurated a three hundred kilowatt solarization project at Izhar Abbasi Hospital, Karachi, which was completed at a cost of 31.83 million rupees.

Speaking on the occasion, he noted that the solarization initiative will result in annual savings of 21.6 million rupees.
