Master-plan worth Rs. 502.31 million approved for the development and beautification of Peshawar City

Peshawar, December 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Minerals and Focal Person/Coordinator mega-projects of District Peshawar Ziaullah Afridi has approved a master-plan worth Rs. 502.31 million for the development and beautification of Peshawar City.

He was presiding over a meeting regarding developmental schemes for Peshawar at the Committee Room of Planning and Development Department on Friday wherein high ups of the concerned departments were present.

Zia said the project would soon be inaugurated that would encompass construction of security grills on both sides of city canals, embankment, footpaths for pedestrians, canal roads, public latrines, erection of filtration plants, traffic signals at chowks, zebra cross, bus stops, streetlights and security check-posts at the entrances of Peshawar.

He said Gor Khuttree Tehsil would be made a hub of cultural and recreational activities, rehabilitation of cultural heritage, Malik Tehmas Khan Football Stadium and Hayatabad Sports Complex as well as reconstruction of pavilion at Qayyum Stadium would be materialized.

He said the PTI led government had evolved strategy to improve the performance of departments that would soon benefit the general masses. He said their government was taking all steps to revitalize the cultural activities of Peshawar. He said the problems of cleanliness in Peshawar, undisciplined traffic and under-construction flyovers would soon be solved that would directly benefit the masses of the city.
