Matco Foods Reports Lower Revenue but Returns to Profitability

Karachi: Matco Foods Ltd. (MFL) presented its financial results for the fiscal year 2025 in a corporate briefing, revealing a decline in revenue but a return to profitability. The company’s topline reached PkR26.7 billion, a decrease of 3.8% from the previous year’s PkR27.7 billion, primarily due to reduced selling prices of rice.

In fiscal year 2025, the average selling price of White Basmati rice was recorded at US$1,159, a drop from US$1,280 in the same period last year. Similarly, Brown Basmati rice averaged US$949, compared to US$1,375 previously.

Despite the revenue dip, Matco Foods posted earnings of PkR414 million, equating to earnings per share of PkR3.4. This marks a significant turnaround from a loss of PkR262 million, or a loss per share of PkR2.1, in fiscal year 2024. The company attributed this improvement to better margins, increased exchange gains, and reduced finance costs.

The briefing, facilitated by AKD Securities Limited, provided clarity on the company’s financial performance and future outlook amidst fluctuating market conditions.
